Physician Resources

We know you have a choice in laboratory testing.  Listed below are a few innovative differences we believe will encourage you to utilize Biocept tests in assisting in the management of your patients' health.

Biocept provides minimal invasive testing on peripheral blood

Examination of CTCs in peripheral blood samples may allow earlier detection of recurrence or metastasis than standard procedures by a less invasive procedure compared to surgical biopsy.

Biocept provides prognostic CTC enumeration for various solid tumors

OncoCEE™ Enumeration utilizes a novel microfluidic system for CTC enrichment based on an antibody capture cocktail that allows for enumeration of CTCs with variable phenotypes.  The heterogeneous nature of CTCs and the need to examine cells beyond the standard EpCAM/cytokeratin-expressing epithelial cells requires a more sensitive approach to cell capture and identification.  Biocept’s antibody capture cocktail allows for the enumeration of various solid tumor types.

Biocept provides greater levels of sensitivity to detect CTCs

Biocept’s antibody capture cocktail and its CEE-Enhanced™ staining methods are able to capture and detect both cytokeratin-positive epithelial cells as well as cytokeratin-negative mesenchymal cells that have undergone epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT).

Biocept offers molecular testing on CTCs

Captured CTCs and DTCs remain suitable for molecular diagnosis by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) or by a variety of molecular analyses (e.g., PCR) after extraction of the DNA. Molecular analysis of the cells may indicate which patients will respond to designated therapies and provide physicians the information to personalize treatment for patients.
