Biocept is an oncology laboratory service company focused on the development and marketing of novel laboratory products in the detection of rare cells to include circulating tumor cells.

We believe that the future of medicine lies in non-invasive testing that provides physicians with early information in the treatment of cancer. By providing a reliable and robust test in the detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs), we believe we will improve our ability to determine which patients are subject to a greater risk of developing disease and who therefore would benefit from preventive therapies. Our goal is to provide physicians with critical information to help guide the healthcare management of their patients to prevent disease, delay the onset of disease, or catch disease at an earlier stage when it typically is more treatable.

We employ a number of proprietary technologies and novel procedures that permit us to understand Circulating Tumor Cells.  We use this information to guide the development of new laboratory products that assess an individual's risk for developing disease later in life (predictive medicine), identify a patient's likelihood of responding to a particular drug therapy and tailor a patient's drug dose to ensure optimal treatment (personalized medicine), and assess a patient's risk of disease progression and disease recurrence (prognostic medicine). We are launching several commercial diagnostic products for various solid tumors, beginning with breast cancer. We will market these products through our sales force in the United States and we anticipate entering into marketing collaborations with other organizations in selected markets.
